Government Innovation Lab in collaboration with UNDP, Government of Balochistan, and University of Balochistan conducted Ideation Workshop for the shortlisted applicants of Balochistan SDG Challenge Cup 2021 on 30 October 2021. The main objective of the workshop was to spark innovation, draw out a sense of creativity and convert start-up ideas into Business Models.Mr. Arslan Badini (Project Officer GIL) welcomed all the guests and participants and briefed them about SDG Challenge Cup. Dr. Waheed Noor (Team Lead GIL) greeted the participants of the workshop with a welcome message of introduction to GIL and UNDP. The session was attended by Jamshaid Tassaduq (Deputy Director SMEDA) who gave awareness to the candidates about financial literacy and highlighted different schemes of grants and loans for start-ups.Miss Raheela Durrani (Politician / Lawyer) recognized the role of women in society and gave recommendations about three SDGs which included ‘No Poverty’, ‘Good Health’ and ‘Clean Water and Sanitation.Mr. Abdul Wasey (Startup Manager NIC UoB) instructed the participants about how to convert a startup idea into a Business Model.All teams gave a two-minute presentation about their SDG Challenge Cup Idea.Dr. Umar Safdar (Director ORIC NCBA&E) mentored the shortlisted candidates about social impact, scalability, and financial scalability of Business Ideas.At the end of the session, certificates were distributed among the candidates by Mr. Abdul Wasey and Mr. Arslan Badini thanked all the guests and participants of the workshop.
